Begin an unforgettable trip through almost 7,500 square miles (12,000 km²) of fantastic landscapes of salt.
The dazzling white mantle of the Salar de Uyuni resembles an immense glacier. In winter (dry season from May to October), when the surface hardens, geometric figures formed by the salt particles agglomerated into polygons appear. In summer (rainy season from November to March) the salt desert is transformed into a giant mirror that blends into the sky of the purest blue you’ve ever seen before.

ITINERARY
DAY 1: UYUNI SALT FLAT
The adventure starts when you get Uyuni city, the pick-up is from the bus terminal or from the airport.
The first stop is going to be in the train´s grave yard (where you can see some very old steam locomotives, which were brought from the USA and England in 1873). Today is literally a playground for tourist.
Then, the ride is 30 min. to “Colchani”, a small village, where, you will learn about salt manufacturing, also spending some time in the handy craft market.
Well, now is time to drive onto the salt flats, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in the middle of the white desert (all types of food options), then set free your imagination for taking funny and crazy pictures.
According with the season the next place to visit is Inkahuasi Island, doing a nice walk, where you’ll get a 360° view from the top.
(In the rainy season, could be no possible to visit the Island).
Well, after a day full of adventures and fun. You will enjoy the most beautiful sunset on earth.
